Alexander Accountancy come to fore with crazy golf day for YMCA Burton
Businesses from Burton and Derby proved to be well above par when they came together to raise funds for YMCA Burton through the annual Alexander Accountancy crazy golf day.
Eighteen teams representing local businesses and organisations overcame the rain to compete in an afternoon of friendly competition and fundraising at the Woodland Adventure Golf course at Branston Golf and Country Club in Burton upon Trent.
The overall victors were the team from independent financial advice business Alexander’s Financial Planning, with one of the team going round the course in a competition record low of 37 strokes.
In second place was the team comprising Kelly Archer of Networkin, Aaron Sanderson of The Mortgage Advice Bureau, Jason Cooper of Yee Group and Curtis Roberts of MB Insolvency. Profusion Wealth Management finished third.
In total, there were 20 holes in one recorded on the day, with Liam Booth from Oviso proving the most successful by notching two.
Businesses had the opportunity to sponsor a hole for £50, with their logos appearing on a banner along with appearances in marketing material.
The hole sponsors included Barclays, Harvey Beric Associates, Profusion Wealth Management, Hardy Signs, Alexander’s Financial Planning, Veritas Facility Management, Making Plans Architecture, Claire Reeves and Torque Operations.
Entry for the event on Thursday June 11 was priced at £160 per team of four, including competition entry, food and a donation to YMCA Burton.
In addition to the Alexander Accountancy and YMCA Burton teams, the list of teams included: Alexander’s Financial Planning, Nelsons Law, Harvey Beric Associates, Profusion Wealth Management, Dial Direct, Oviso, Tutbury Carpets Teams 1 and 2, Rushton Hickman, Ground Solutions, Hope 4 U, Making Plans Architecture, Yee Group, a team consisting of Kelly Archer, Aaron Sanderson, Curtis Roberts and Jason Cooper, plus Smith Partnership.
Alexander Accountancy organised the crazy golf day as part of its drive to actively foster local connections through networking and charity events, creating valuable opportunities for clients while strengthening the regional business ecosystem and supporting causes close to the community’s heart.
Managing director Wayne Penlington, who gave a speech welcoming the competitors and also led the presentations, said: "We would like to thank the local business community for coming together for YMCA Burton, a fantastic cause.
