Birmingham community shows support for hospital charity at Iftar dinner
Heartlands Hospital Charity hosted it’s second Iftar dinner for Ramadan this year.
The event was well received in the community and raised over £90,000 to support patients at Heartlands Hospital.
The charity’s mission is to save, change and rebuild lives, going over and above what the NHS can provide, funding a huge range of projects every year, from state-of-the-art equipment, life-saving research, and wellbeing support that helps tens of thousands of patients every year.
Charlotte Schofield, director of fundraising for the Charity, said: “I’m so proud to be able to say that we hosted such an incredible event. The response from the community around Heartlands was amazing, we have had so much support we’re honestly overwhelmed.
“The money raised will make an enormous difference to patients and their families at Heartlands Hospital, making many things possible for us to do, in terms of equipment and support.
“Every year, we fund a huge range of projects across the hospital, none of which would be possible without the incredible, and selfless support of the people who donate and fundraise for us. Without them none of this would be possible.”
This year’s event has supported the hospital charity’s Cancer Appeal, as the Charity aims to raise £150,000 to fund the refurbishment of a new Haematology and Oncology Centre at Heartlands Hospital, where cancer patients from across the community will come to receive treatment.
