Future Faces Chamber of Commerce held a workshop on digital wellbeing focusing on the effects of screen use and behaviours.

The panel session took place at Barclays and was chaired by Sarah Griffiths, director of PMO at Intercity Technology.

Panellists included Joel Blake of Wilkes Solicitors, Rudy Heywood, CEO of Famous Wolf, and Hannah Bailey, founder of Blue Light Therapy.

The discussion focused on how people can limit their screen time throughout the day and the psychology behind brains and phone use.

Hannah Bailey said: “It was a pleasure to be a guest on the panel for the Screen Life Balance session held by Future Faces and attended by those keen to have a better relationship with our screens.

“We all understood that the goal isn’t to remove screens completely from our lives – it’s to use them more consciously.

“When we can learn more about the effects of screen use on our brains and behaviours, then we can make educated choices around our interactions with them.

“By setting boundaries, taking regular breaks and making time for offline connection, we can build a healthier relationship with technology and protect our mental health.

“We were delighted to host the Future Faces ‘Screen Life Balance’ event at our One Snow Hill office and to see the event space packed with members engaging around this topic.

Paul Faulkner, vice chairman of the Midlands for Barclays, said: “A couple of our own rising stars at Barclays have just joined Future Faces and everyone at the bank is keen to ramp up our engagement with FF and the wider GBCC in general as part of our renewed focus on and commitment to the regional business community.”
