“I am passionate about this because that talent is shaping our city region through both their work and volunteering roles. We need to encourage and celebrate the significant contributions our young professionals make to our regional economy and community and thank them for that work.

“The awards have been running for 26 years, and I have been involved in nearly all of them.

“At every awards ceremony, I speak to people who are either new to working in the region or are visiting through the awards and don’t work here.

“Every time, people comment on how unique GBYPY is and say they wish they had something similar where they are.”

“For the future of our city and region we need to continue to attract and retain the best young talent. Highlighting and celebrating young professionals plays an important role, and that recognition can truly be life-changing.

Ruth Pipkin, managing director of Rewired PR said: “As well as the awards night itself, which is always a high energy celebration, I'm always most excited about meeting the nominees.

“I can't wait to be inspired by their successes to date and their vision for the future of Greater Birmingham.

“The awards are genuinely like no other. The whole process shines a light on the impact that young professionals are making both within business and the wider community.

“It has helped to create a platform and opportunities for a diverse range of young leaders in the city and will continue to do so.

“I’m passionate about it because it’s all about championing the future leaders of our city. Future leaders are always developing and there is a fresh batch every year!”

Nicola Fleet-Milne, managing director of FleetMilne said: “I’m particularly excited to see how the format of the awards night is evolving to be more fit for purpose and better aligned with an ever-changing audience.

“The awards are so important because the younger generation deserves recognition and acknowledgement just like everyone else.”
