Solus Ceramics invests in two new showrooms
Solihull Chamber member Solus Ceramic Tiles has strengthened its commitment to the region with two new investments - a showroom at its Tyseley headquarters and a presence at the Digbeth Design Centre.
Founded in 1995 by Peter Bentley, the company is still independently owned and run by the Bentley family, with Marcus Bentley as chief executive.
Based in Tyseley, Solus employs more than 100 people across logistics, technical services, sustainability, design support and customer service, making it a well-established employer in the built-environment supply chain.
Whilst Solus operates globally, its roots have always been Midlands-based.
The refurbishment of its Tyseley showroom at its head office brings together material expertise, technical data and specification support in a space that sits directly alongside the company’s operational base.
Marcus Bentley said: “We’re delighted to open our new Birmingham HQ showroom and proud of the result. It offers an inspiring setting for retail customers, luxury residential clients and the A&D community to explore ceramic collections from our factory partners, alongside upgraded facilities throughout the building.”
Alongside the Tyseley HQ showroom, Solus is investing in Digbeth as a partner at the Digbeth Design Centre, working with long-established Brummie businesses EH Smith and Howells.
Conceived as a collaborative, multi-brand environment rather than a traditional showroom, the centre brings architects, designers, contractors and manufacturers together around materials, ideas and shared challenges.
Managing director Ryan Bennett added: “The Digbeth Design Centre gives the Midlands architecture, design and construction community direct access to tiles as working materials, enabling faster, more confident specification decisions.
“Together with our Tyseley showroom, it strengthens our service-led approach through shared learning, events and technical support, reinforcing our 30-year commitment to Birmingham’s property and design community.”
